Organization


The activity will last four weeks, from July 11 to August 5 of 2011.
The activity schedule will be divided into three modules:
  • Preparation (1 week): from the 11 to the 15 of July.
  • Workshop (2 weeks): from the 18 to the 29 of July.
  • After workshop (1 week): from the 1 to the 5 of August.

The detailed schedule is prepared based on the partner contributions.
The first module (Preparation) will be devoted to set up the material and facilities for the Workshop activities (software, notes, etc).
The second module (Workshop) will be the core of the meeting and It will consist in a series of lectures and training activities.
The third module (After Workshop) is expected to concentrate most of the hands-on activities.

Daily plan

Given the location of CIMEC in the outskirts of the city and the difficulties in organizing the transportation going out for lunch will be very time consuming. As a consequence, the workshop will be developed using a continuous schedule. Each day will use the following continuous schedule:
  • 09:00 - 11:00: lecture/training;
  • 11:00 - 11:30: coffee break;
  • 11:30 - 13:30: lecture/training;
  • 13:30 - 14:30: lunch break;
  • 14.30 - 16:30: lecture/training.

The cost for the lunch service will be charged to the participants.

Schedule and materials

Facilities

  • We expect that every participant will bring his/her own notebook to the workshop.
  • Activities will develop in a room with internet and intranet access via WIFI or cable connection, projector and whiteboard.
  • Participants will have access to the CIMEC Beowulf clusters via the institute intranet.
  • Description of the current two Beowulf clusters in the CIMEC: see AquilesDescription (under construction).
  • Available software and other technical details will be given in this workshop webpage.
  • The participants can present their requirements for software or specific equipment they need for their training activities.
  • The workshop web page will have a repository to download any material (documents, software, presentations, etc) that the participants want to hand-out before the workshop.
