  • [2012-04-27 08:44:46] Regarding the usage of master*@clonetroop accounts, they will be available until Friday May 11. So if you want to have the files that you created for the assignemnt you have to download them BEFORE that date.
  • [2012-04-23 07:24:14] Clonetroop cluster is "alive and kicking" again. Apparently since yesterday afternoon.
  • [2012-04-21 10:03:26] It seems that it is impossible to run jobs in clonetroop since yesterday (Friday) 2000hs. I told the sysadmins about that. I don't know if they will fix the problem during the week-end. I will keep you informed about this.
  • [2012-04-20 07:56:43] Deadline for Assignement 2 (OpenMP) is postponed to Monday April 30. Remember for this assignement you can use probably your own laptops (provided that they have at least 2 cores) and a compiler that supports OpenMP.
  • [2012-04-11 19:49:26] I have sent by mail the second assignment of the course. It is included in the updated version od the slides below. The deadline for this assignment is Tuesday April 24. I recall you that the deadline for the first assignment (computing the bandwidth between two nodes in the cluster) is next Tuesday April 17. (Resources: description, sequential C++ program)
  • [2012-04-11 19:49:26] I reserved again the classroom (as always Room 110 in the C1 Building) for tomorrow Thursday from 1100hs to 1300hs. I recall you that these practical ("hands-on") classes are optional.
  • [2012-04-10 11:14:26] Wednesday 4/11 the practical class will end at 11:30hs because I have to give a CIMNE Seminar at 12:00hs. Tuesday and Friday we can remain at the classroom after the class in order to do some practical work. Also, I remember you that I'm available at my office most of the time, if you have any queries.
  • [2012-04-04 15:11:44] Some students asked me to postpone the deadline for submitting the report of the assignement, so it is is postponed for Tuesday April 17. I want to stress the fact that the assignement is INDIVIDUAL, you must write the report individually and be able to present and discuss your results ORALLY.
  • [2012-03-29 19:52:50] I added a small HOWTO on submitting jobs in clonetroop, to the slides. Of course you should download an updated version of them.
  • [2012-03-27 13:23:07] Next Thursday 3/29 there will be a general strike in Spain. This may compromise the public transport. The course will be given normally, but I will focus mainly on examples, so that if someone misses the class she/he will not miss important concepts.
  • [2012-03-22 13:42:33] The slides have been updated.
  • [2012-03-20 09:43:12] The course will be given on classroom: Building A6, Room 203.
